Bowl

Bowl

Description:

To make this bowl, the white glass was carved into a flower shape, and two enamel scenes were painted on. After the enamels had been fired-on, the painted areas of this bowl were cased in clear glass, probably by dipping the bowl into some hot clear glass. It is unusual for enamels to be cased in this way, but it may have helped to protect them.
