Covered bowl with design of pomegranates

Covered bowl with design of pomegranates

Description:

The fine quality of this covered bowl and the reign-mark on its base suggests this was made in the imperial workshops. The lid originally held a knob with which to lift it off the bowl. The pomegranates symbolise fertility whilst the butterflies stand for happiness.
