Trinket box in the shape of a peach

Trinket box in the shape of a peach

Description:

This box might have been used to hold small personal items such as jewellery. The peach shape and peach tree leaf sprays symbolise long life. The carved bat is a symbol of happiness (because the words for bat and happiness sound the same in Chinese). The colour of the glass looks like dark green jade.
