Description:
This vase is another example of casing. The black overlay was cut away using a wheel and abrasives to give a geometric design. The famous French glass designer Emile Gall was inspired by the Chinese overlay glass he saw at the Kensington Museum (now the Victoria and Albert Museum) in 1872.
