Detail of Hannah More,1745-1833, from a 1930 painting entitled Some Who Made Bristol Famous by Ernest Board. More was an Evangelical Christian who wrote about the subjects of morality and religion, and was known for her charity. She was an Abolitionist and wrote poems against the slave trade.
