King Street

Description:

Photograph.Built in the 17th century, King Street retains several buildings that owe their existence to the wealth generated by the slave trade. In 1775 the street was home to both Henry Webb, captain of the slaver the Nevis Planter, and Robert Walls, surgeon of the Guinea slaver.

With thanks to the authors of the Slave Trade Trail around Central Bristol, Madge Dresser, Caletta Jordan, Doreen Taylor.
