Muster roll for the ship, the Seymoor, sailing from Bristol to Cork and Jamaica, 1747.
The Seymoor was one of many ships trading directly with with the colonies, supplying manufactured foodstuffs. Amongst the crew is a free(?) black sailor, Quaco, from Bristol.
The muster roll is a list of all crew signed on for all or part of a voyage, which was used to calculate the money each man should pay to the Sailors’ Hospital Fund (insurance).

Muster roll for the ship, the Marlborough, sailing for Africa and St Christophers, in the Caribbean, 1748.
This was the 10th of 14 slaving voyages for the Marlborough. It sailed for Africa with orders to buy 350 slaves. How many were bought there and sold at St Kitts is not known.

Muster roll for the ship, the Williamsburgh, from Africa and Jamaica, 1747.
The Williamsburgh sailed for Africa with orders to buy 400 slaves. The number actually bought is not known, but 365 were sold at Jamaica. One of the crew was Noblet Ruddock, later a merchant in his own right, with investments in slaving voyages, sugar and tobacco.

The Emperor , a large ship of 200 tons, sailed with orders to buy 550 slaves. The number actually bought is not known, but 384 slaves were sold at Jamaica. Amongst the crew is a man named John Oronoqua, of Bristol, a name that suggests a free black sailor.

The Success, a small ship of 80 tons, sailed for Africa with orders to buy 300 slaves. The actual number bought and sold is not known. Of the crew of 30, 11 died before the ship reached Antigua.

The Matilda sailed for Benin, in Africa. The number of slaves bought is not known, but about 150 were sold at South Carolina.

The Fly made a very fast slaving voyage of just under 9 months. The number of slaves bought in West Africa is not known, but 193 slaves were sold at Jamaica.

Muster roll for the ship, the Black Prince, sailing from Bristol to Africa and America, 1752.
This is the third slaving voyage of the Blcak Prince. The ship sailed from Bonny in West Africa to Virginia, but the number of slaves bought and sold is not known. Alexander Macdonald, William Hodge and Edward Kennedy died whilst the ship was at Bonny. Thomas Russell ran away from the ship at Bonny.

Muster roll for the ship, the Golden Fleece, sailing from Africa and Jamaica, 1752.
The Golden Fleece sailed for Cape Coast. This was a very long slaving voyage of just over 25 months. The ship seems to have spent a long time at the coast buying slaves, leaving for Jamaica in June 1753 with 190 enslaved Africans on board. 170 were sold at Jamaica. Six of the crew died during the voyage and several transferred to Royal Navy ships.
