One of the crew of the Little Pearl is named as Black Jack , from Bristol. He was presumably a free black sailor.

Muster roll for the ship, the Alert , sailing from Africa and Jamaica, 1786.
The Alert sailed for Cape Coast Castle (West Africa), and sailed from Africa with 321 slaves. The slaves were described as Fante and Asante; the names of two West African societies. 300 slaves were sold at Jamaica.

Muster roll for the ship, the Little Pearl , sailing from Bristol to Africa and the West Indies, 1786.
The Little Pearl was a small slaving ship of only 70 tons. It is not known where the ship went in Africa, nor how many slaves were bought. 100 were sold at St Vincent. The ship’s surgeon was James Arnold. He gave evidence about the slave trade to a Parliamentary committee in 1788.

Muster roll for the ship, the Pearl , sailing from Africa and Grenada, in the Caribbean, 1785.
The Pearl sailed for Africa with orders to buy 550 slaves. 437 slaves were bought at Bonny, West Africa, and 32 died during The Middle Passage. 385 were sold for an average of £35 13s 9d each (equivalent to about £1,818 today). Another seven slaves, obviously in a very bad conition, were sold at vendue (publically to the highest bidder) for £50 for all seven (about £2,500 today).

Muster roll for the ship, the Alexander , sailing from Africa and Grenada in the Caribbean, 1786.
The Alexander sailed for Africa, and is known to have called in at Bonny, West Africa. The number of slaves bought is not known. Reports suggest that 350 or 342 were sold at Grenada, including 50 boys and 53 girls.

The Emilia sailed for Africa, although it is not known where and how many slaves were bought. Reports suggest that 180 (a low number for a ship with 45 crew) or 379 slaves were sold at Grenada, at an average of about £34 each (equivalent to about £1,700 today). Alexander Falconbridge, fourth on the list, was the ship’s surgeon. He later gave evidence to a Parliamentary committee about the slave trade.

Muster roll for the ship, the Alfred , sailing from Africa and St Vincents, in the Caribbean, 1785.
The Alfred sailed for Cape Coast and Bonny, both in West Africa. The number of slaves bought is not known, but 330 were sold at St Vincent. The whole voyage took just over 11 1/2 months.

Muster roll for the ship, the Royal Charlotte , sailing from Bristol to Africa, 1786.
The Royal Charlotte sailed for Africa. It is not known how many slaves were bought, but 420 were sold at St Vincent. The whole trip was completed in a very fast time of just over 8 months.
