Muster roll for the ship, the Nancy , sailing from Africa and Jamaica, 1764.
It is not known where in Africa slaves were bought, nor how many, but 280 were sold in Jamaica. The whole voyage took just over 20 months, a long time for a slaving voyage.

The muster roll is a list of all crew signed on for all or part of a voyage, which was used to calculate the money each man should pay to the Sailors’ Hospital Fund (insurance).

The Kitty sailed from Bristol to New Calabar. It is not known how many slaves were bought and sold in St Kitts.

The master, John Purnell, was also the co-owner of the ship. It is not known where the ship bought slaves in Africa, or how many, but 257 were sold in Jamaica.

Muster roll for the ship, the Tryall , 1784.
The Tryall sailed for Cape Coast in West Africa. It was reported as carrying 350 or perhaps 364 slaves. The ship went onto Jamaica, and sold 303 slaves there. According to the owners, the voyage did not make them any profit, rather a very heavy loss .

Muster roll for the ship, the Constantine , sailing from Bristol to Africa and the West Indies.
The Constantine sailed for Africa and then to St Vincent and Dominica. The ship was lost in a hurricane off the Virgin Islands. The crew was saved. The slaves had probably been sold before this, at Dominica.

It is not known where the Hornet went in Africa, nor how many slaves were bought. 280 were sold at Jamaica. A sale advertisement for the ship described it as calculated for the African trade, with 4 feet and six inches between decks.

The Rebecca sailed to the West coast of Africa, and returned direct to Bristol. The cargo was presumably timber rather than slaves.

Muster roll for the ship, the Little Pearl from Grenada, 1785.
The Pearl and the Little Pearl both made slaving voyages this year, but seem to be working separately rather than as a team., as on previous voyages. The Little Pearl sailed for Old Calabar, West Africa, where 160 or 169 slaves were bought. It was reported that 100 or 102 slaves were sold at Grenada, in the Caribbean.

The Lion sailed for Africa and returned directly for Bristol. The ship was owned by Sidenham Teaste, a ship builder, and he sent several wood ships to Africa, to buy tropical hardwood for ship building.

The Thomas sailed for New Calabar and Bonny, West Africa. It was reported to have 420 slaves on board, but reached Barbados with 373, and St Vincents with 360 – 370. It is not clear how many slaves were bought and how many died during the voyage.
