Muster roll for the ship the Nightingale, which sailed from Bristol to West Africa in 1769. Here, it collected 236 enslaved Africans before sailing across the Atlantic Ocean to the Caribbean island of Barbados.

The slave ship Wells left Bristol in 1766 for the Coast of Guinea (West Africa), then to St Kitts in the Caribbean and back to Bristol. The ship was later sold and rebuilt in Bristol.
It was renamed African Queen before its next voyage to Africa in1770.
