The Swift left Bristol for Isle de los, Sierra Leone, carrying £6007.19s.2d worth of trade goods. Only 27 slaves were bought, and 124 were sold in Barbados.

The Favourite left Bristol bound for Calabar in West Africa. 156 enslaved Africans were carried to Jamaica, with 38 dying before the ship left Africa, or on the Atlantic voyage.

Muster roll for the ship, the Providence , for a voyage from Bristol to Hamburg, South Carolina and so to London.
The ship may have sailed via Hamburg in Germany to pick up goods for the South Carolina market. From London, the ship went to St Petersburg in Russia and back to Bristol.

Muster roll for the ship, the Pilgrim. The ship left Bristol for Bonny in West Africa and carried probably 419 enslaved Africans to St Vincent. Reports show that 15 or 16 died during the voyage.
The crew is a very mixed one, with sailors from Bristol, Gloucester, Chippenham, Pensford and Kingswood locally. There are also crew from London, Wales, Cumberland, Edinburgh, Oxford, America, Norway, Denmark, Spain and Anguilla.

There were four ships called the Betsey involved in the slave trade. This one, on this voyage, sold 285 or 279 enslaved Africans from Angola in West Africa.

Muster roll for the ship, the Golden Grove , for a voyage from Bristol to Jamaica, and back to Bristol, 1771.
The Golden Grove would have been carrying manufactured goods and foodstuffs out to the colonies. It was part of colonial policy that the colonies should be depandent on the manufactures of Britain, to keep industry in business at home. The merchant navy were employed in transporting goods.

The Wells , with a crew of only nine, would have been carrying foodstuffs and manufactured goods out and bringing sugar, rum, etc back to Bristol.
