Pomegranate (Punica granatum)

Description:

Many of the enslaved Africans had a knowledge of herbal medicine using African plants, and they found medicinal uses for the plants or the Caribbean. For example the skin of the fruit or the young bark is boiled and taken as tea for the treatment of belly ache, period pains, colds, fevers and diabetes.
