Excavated plate
Description:
Photograph of an excavated plate from Nevis.This press-moulded plate shows a feathered slip decoration. This is produced by using a white slip cover over an iron rich clay base, then the design is added by using a feather. This was either made in Staffordshire or Bristol post 1700.

Historic site, King Street
Description:
Photograph.Built in the 17th century, King Street retains several buildings that owe their existence to the wealth generated by the slave trade. In 1775 the street was home to both Henry Webb, captain of the slaver the Nevis Planter, and Robert Walls, surgeon of the Guinea slaver.
