Red

Red is probably the most recognised symbolic colour for Chinese people. It is a lucky colour, used at special occasions such as birthdays and Chinese New Year, and brides used to wear red on their wedding day. There is an old legend in China that demons and evil spirits do not like bright colours such as red, so it is used to ward off evil.
